15 Most Romantic Things To Do In Paris for Couples
1. Go on a Sunset Seine River Cruise
A Seine River Cruise is one of the most romantic things to in Paris with your partner. Cruising along the Seine gives you a completely different perspective of the city – from the water, you’ll enjoy stunning views of iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, and the Louvre, all beautifully lit up at night.
For an unforgettable evening, I highly recommend booking a 3-Course-Dinner Cruise on the Seine with live music. t’s one of the most popular and highly rated experiences in Paris. You’ll get champagne, enjoy a French meal, and watch the city light up all while listenting to live music — it’s truely one of the most romantic experiences in Paris.
If you’re short on time or traveling on a budget, try a one-hour Seine River cruise instead. Unlike many other one-hour tours, this cruise allows you to choose the time that fits your itinerary, helping you avoid long lines and ensuring you get a seat on the boat. We did the 10 pm slot, and it was absolutely perfect. If you’d like to see exactly what the experience looks like, watch my video on Instagram below.
I’ve done both cruises and honestly loved each one!

2. Climb the Eiffel Tower
You can’t visit Paris without experiencing its most famous landmark. Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower is one of the most romantic activities to do in Paris and an absolute must for your itinerary, especially if it’s your first visit.
The Eiffel Tower was built more than 130 years ago and is one of the most visited monuments in the world, right after the Colosseum in Italy. Its timeless charm and stunning architecture make it an unforgettable experience.
I highly recommend booking tickets to the summit and second floor for the full experience. The 360-degree views of Paris are breathtaking! I visited with my husband at 10:30 pm and watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle from above — it was pure magic.
To make it even more special, we enjoyed a glass of champagne at the Jules Verne Restaurant on the second floor. Honestly, it doesn’t get more romantic than that.
You can book skip-the-line tickets to the Eiffel Tower, with the option to include summit access. If you prefer, you can also join a guided tour — both options are highly rated and ensure a smooth, stress-free experience.

We booked a one-hour session with a professional photographer, and it was worth every minute. They took us to several Eiffel Tower viewpoints, and we received around 400 images. You can also request 20 edited images — we came home with stunning photos that perfectly captured the essence of our trip.
It’s a thoughtful way to make your romantic Paris vacation last long after you’ve left.

Every hour on the hour after sunset, the Eiffel Tower bursts into a glittering light show that lasts five minutes. Watching it sparkle is one of the most romantic things to do in Paris at night — Trust me, it’s a magical moment that feels straight out of a dream.
Bring your partner, a warm drink, and just take it all in.

6. Have a Picnic in Front of the Eiffel Tower
If you’re looking for romantic things to do in Paris on a budget, one of my absolute favourite ideas is to pack a Parisian picnic at Champ de Mars, the beautiful green park right in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Bring a basket filled with French cheese, a fresh baguette, fruit, and a bottle of wine, and enjoy! As the sun sets, the Eiffel Tower begins to sparkle — this is one of the best things you can do in Paris as couples.
Tip: You can easily find food for your picnic from nearby markets around the Eiffel Tower or stop by a Franprix or Monoprix, two popular French supermarkets in the 7th arrondissement. Just remember that most local markets and bakeries close by midday, so if you’re planning a dinner picnic, shop earlier or head to a grocery store later in the day.
Note: The Eiffel Tower sparkles every evening on the hour, starting at sunset and continuing until 11:45 pm, with each display lasting about five minutes. During summer months and French holidays, the lights continue every hour until 1:00 am, with a special final sparkle show at 1 am — a magical sight you won’t want to miss!

7. Take a Day Trip to the Champagne Region
For couples wanting something extra special, take a day trip from Paris to the Champagne region — the birthplace of France’s most elegant drink. This region is home to world-famous Champagne houses like Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Taittinger, as well as charming family-run vineyards.
I recommend joining this highly rated Champagne tour (4.8 out of 5 stars). You’ll explore historic cellars where bottles quietly age, learn the fascinating art of Champagne making, enjoy eight tastings straight from the source, and savor a delicious lunch in the vineyards.

Montmartre is considered one of the most romantic neighborhoods in Paris. This charming hilltop village is best known for the stunning Sacré-Cœur Basilica, which translates to “Sacred Heart,” and for its rich artistic heritage — once home to legendary artists like Picasso, Renoir, and Van Gogh.
Watching the sunset from the steps of Sacré-Cœur is one of the most romantic yet budget-friendly things to do in Paris. As the sky turns golden and the city lights begin to sparkle, you’ll understand why Montmartre has inspired so many artists and lovers over the years.

10. Stroll Through Hidden Streets Near the Eiffel Tower
Of course, visiting the Eiffel Tower is a must, but if you’re looking for hidden romantic spots in Paris, it feels even more majestic when viewed from a quiet, empty side street. Away from the crowds, you can enjoy the tower’s grandeur in peace — a perfect moment to share with your partner.
The side streets around the 7th arrondissement are lined with quiet cafés, charming boutiques, and postcard-perfect views of the Eiffel Tower. These peaceful walks are some of my favorite especially in the early morning when the streets are calm and the city feels like it’s just waking up.
Some of my favorite spots include: Rue de l’Université and and Rue Sainte Dominique, two charming streets in the 7th arrondissement, known for its picturesque views of the Eiffel Tower, perfect for a romantic stroll or photos together. I’ve also seen beautiful couples’ photoshoots happening in these spots.
